Opened in February of this year, this Pizza Parlor is located in the city of Quilpue, Chile.
The starting point for all activities in Chile, is the property were this pizza parlor is located. We are 1 and 1/2 hours from Santiago and 10 minutes to Viņa del Mar, and Valparadiso. The city is the first of 4 cities that are some of the best agricultural lands of the region and today are becoming the suburbs of Viņa del Mar, and Valparadiso.
We are three blocks form the center of Quilpue on Los Carrera, the main street that unites these 5 cities. Buses and Colectivos crowd the street in front of this house, and will take you east to Villa Alemana, Limache and Olmue, or east to Viņa del Mar, and Valparaiso. Until last year had tailors working in this house making clothing. This year we reduced the sewing facility to a cutting and sewing room and converted the first floor of the house into a pizza parlor.
It was built on a tight budget and is sparse, but its,
licensed and permitted by all health and municipal authorities. Jeannette came to
work for us about ten years ago, as an apprentice in the tailoring business. She
staid on to help build this restaurant and now is the administrator. She is a
single mother, as well as her daughter (that also works here). Marcela Rios that
works part time is also a single mother.
What can be done for single mothers in Chile through this location and business environment is the subject of this collaboration.
You will see in the accounting link that there is little income coming in from sales. We hope to improve these statistics
It is projected that when this business is able to make sufficient income it will pay rent to the Jobiz organization, in the meantime no rent is paid by Quantum Pizza.
