A multifaceted organization dedicated to mentoring youth into successful adulthood
There are many new developments in the areas of social net working, collaboration, and social economic models. There is also much new understanding in developmental psychology that can prevent many of the problems that come from our youth and we carry into adulthood. Our organization is about taking the leading edge of all this new understanding and turning it into a mentoring program to assist in the development of the youth in our urban community.
Our program is based on a social networking platform that enables one on one interaction between volunteer mentors, our staff, school personnel and the particular student involved.
We make available a variety of programs that enable students to sample and learn athletic, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Programs that stress the value of a continued education, as well as prepare students with proper work attitudes in a variety of work environments.
Our athletic program gives students a variety of sports to select from and stresses the value of a continued education.
At our 770 English Avenue Facility we house a variety of small businesses that are set up to give basic training in their respective field.
Each business is open for student participation business accounting and management is done in a team or collaborative manner by the students and their mentors through a web based platform. Profits from the business activities are returned to the community through projects also administered by the students and their mentors. The value of altruism and giving back to your community is a central point that we teach to the students.
Each business is what is known as a "social business" that combines entrepreneurial skills with social altruism. Free market capitalism working towards social needs through a collaborative framework.
The online infrastructure will provide transparent accounting and management resources all involved for education as well as verification. Enabling donor/participants to advance social goals through direct hands on management.
Contributors can earmark donations for specific projects, and the follow progress through the accounting and journal entries of the students.
Each is a business plan for social action. With these tools we can build better individuals and community.
